Mr Bhandari is a Chartered Accountant by qualification and Banker by profession. He holds B.Com (Hons) degree and is a Fellow Member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He has more than 30 years’ expertise and experience in banking and finance. During his long tenure with the Central Bank of India Mr Bhandari held important positions in Audit, Regional, Zonal, Credit, Credit Monitoring, Merchant Banking, Treasury, International Divisions of the bank. He served as a Nominee Director of the Bank on the Boards of Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Services Ltd, Indo-Zambia Bank Ltd Lusaka (Zambia), Cent Bank Home Finance Ltd, Bhopal and Central Bank Executors & Trustees Ltd. Mr. Bhandari is widely travelled and has attended Banking Meetings, Seminars and Training programmes globally. He retired from Central Bank of India in October 2003 whilst serving as General Manager (Treasury) in the International Division of the Bank. Mr. Bhandari served for eight years as an Independent Director on the Board of Capital Local Area Bank Ltd and is currently serving as an Independent Director on the Boards of the several companies in India. Mr. Bhandari is serving as non-Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors of Midland Microfin Ltd, a pioneering micro-finance lender based in India.
